Participant card

Before you start you pay cash 17,50 (analog as digital). After that you will recieve your participant card and other instructions.

Use C-41 films or the highest resolution

For analog fotographers: You've got to bring your own film. This film must be able to be developed with the c-41 proces. You can use a black & white or color film as long as it can be developed with the C-41 proces (‘normal’ black&white films, APS, other formats, etc. are not allowed to be used). When you still have doubts: please contact us!

For digital fotographers: Use the highest as possible resolution. This is important for the printing proces that is needed for the exhibition of the photos! When you still have doubts: please contact us

Take your 24 pictures in line of order of the themes

At the end of the 24 houres you deliver 24 pictures ***** The photos should be taken in line of order of the themes, the photos can not be shuffeled or rearranged. It is not allowed to have different/other photos inbetween this serie. Fot digital cameras, it is not allowed to shuffle or rename the photos. The jury will look at this photos in line of order of the filename.

Checkpoints

You have got to show up at all checkpoints. At each checkpoint you'll get a stamp on your participants card. You've got to call in at a checkpoint every 4 hours, so finally you'll have 6 stamps. It is important to collect all the stamps. When you missed one cannot join in for the best serie but only for the best photo.***** Try not to show up to late at a checkpoint. Checkpoints are active for about 1,5 hours after their opened. When you show up much to late there is a change that you're not able to collect the stamp.

Delivering the serie

At sunday 9.00 AM you'll deliver your photos. It is not allowed to manipulate, reshape, etc your photos. Analoge participants deliver their film, this film will be developed by us. The photos made by digital cameras will be uploaded on our computer, so don't forget to bring your USB-cable!

All analog photographers can get their films back when they are developed, after the announcement of the winners and the opening of the exhibition.

Selection of winners and exhibition

All series and photos will be judged by a professional jury. There will be one winner for the 'Best Serie’. Next to that the jury will choose; third, second and best photo. After the exhibition we will send you your photos.

It is not possible to appeal the official descission of the jury. The jury will judge the series and photos anonimously.

The photos will be printed on a format the suites the exhition. Participants/winners do not have any influence on this

Formalities

The organisers are allowed to use your photo's for PR-material, exhibitions or in other ways. We will use the photos just for purposes related to FotoMarathon Rotterdam. So it is possible that your photo will be published in for example; a newspaper or on our website.

We are not resposible for loss, theft, etc. we will do are best to increase your feeling of safety. At night, when your on the streets, do not show your camera unnecessary. When you don't feel comfortable, you can always call us, or come to the Hotspot.
